Treating Candida
Candida is a is a yeast over growth in the gut. It is very common yet often goes undiagnosed for many years. Some symptoms of candida over growth are. Bloated stomach, white coated tongue, depression, anxiety, sleep issues, brain fog, reflux, flatulence, sore tummy, constipation, diarrhea, nail infections, skin irritations and eczema. These a re just a few symptoms that can be caused by candida. There are many symptoms and it can affect really any part of the body.
Treating candida and getting on top of it, can take some time. There are a few parts to a good candida protocol.
Diet is very important. Candida feeds on sugars and yeast so it is important to make some big changes to diets. The diet needs to be grains / gluten free. Sugars of all kinds need to be stopped, including refined sugars, and natural sugars too. Fruit is out, even sweet vegetables for a few weeks. Dairy also needs to be cut out and finally mushrooms. So, what is left to eat? Lots of Vegetables, good fats and meat is where it’s at for now.
Next up is some good digestive enzymes, Candida make biofilms. These are like protective coverings that they create. They are made of a slimy sludge and the enzymes are essential to be able to dissolve and eat away these biofilms, without the enzymes you can be using some great herbs and supplements to kill the candida but they won’t be able to get in to them.
Lastly some great herbs to help destroy the candida are needed. I normally would check digestive function as part of the protocol as well. Sometimes HCL is also needed.
